Dr. Leonardo Ferreira is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Fascinated by the phenomenon of immune tolerance, his long-term goal is to transform immune cells into living drugs to fight autoimmune diseases, cancer and ageing. By engineering a specific subset of T-Cells, Regulatory T-Cells (Tregs), his team works to design and develop powerful cell therapies for life-threatening diseases.
